KL and Singapore HSR

According to the Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak, the international tender to supply the upcoming high-speed rail (HSR) trains possibly called by the fourth quarter of 2017, stated on 16 November.

The Prime Minister happy to announced that most issues regarding to the ambitious development have been “more or less” settled. Najib also revealed that Malaysia and Singapore are working to sign the development agreement of the upcoming HSR by early December this year.

Najib Razak made the announcement about high-speed rail (HSR) trains after seeing his Japanese counterpart, Shinzo Abe in Tokyo.

Notably, Shinzo Abe made a well sales presentation for the governments of Singapore and Malaysian to deal using the Japanese Shinkansen bullet train system for the upcoming development.

In the press conference, Abe said that they had a very good discussion regarding the high-speed railway project between Singapore and Malaysia. Japan prime minister shown strong expectations concerning the use of Japan’s bullet train technology.

Singapore’s Transport Ministry said last 14 November that Malaysia and Singapore are dealing towards signing the bilateral agreement at the next leaders’ retreat on 5 December this year, for the upcoming Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail.

With upcoming terminus stations in Bandar Malaysia and Jurong East, travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will reduce to 90 minutes.
