A survey made by Building & Construction Authority (BCA) revealed that approximately 72 percent of property developer choose green buildings than non-green property and even willing to pay an additional of five percent. Over 90 percent of the respondents agreed the benefits of green building such as enhancing some therapeutic effect and decreased environmental distractions and helps in the family’s financial budget by decreasing utility bills.
The 2,2000 respondents of the said survey are composed of the developers, the facility managers, homeowners, property agents, office tenants. BCA stressed the result of the survey, supporting the business case for green building around the city-state.
Responding to the huge demand for greenery building has inspired Singapore housing environmental firms to mold experts in green housing layouts for the region. The increasing interest in sustainable properties abroad somehow attracted business chances to the firms, particularly in the properties which adhered BCA’s Green Mark evaluation, added by Hugh Lim, the BCA CEO.
