To accommodate the increase in air traffic, a new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) will be constructed at Seletar Airport, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced on May 19.
Singapore's new PTB at the eastern side of the airport, will feature improved amenities and facilities, and as part of the larger Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP), it will support increasing general aviation activities.
After the tender for the construction was issued last May 18, construction for new PTB is set to start this coming October, and the terminal building is due to be completed by the end of year 2018.
Once the new facility started, the current operations at passenger terminal on Seletar Airport western side will stop. The upcoming plans for the new passenger terminal are all part of efforts to ease pressure on continually busy Changi Airport.
