The Land Transport Authority (LTA) stated in its latest news release that the new Joo Koon Integrated Transport Hub will start its operation to serve the public on November 21 as scheduled. Ideally located at the ground level of Fairprice Hub, this fully air-conditioned development will house eight bus services.
This is good news especially to those who work near Tuas and Jurong areas which location can become more promising with the easy access and connectivity through bus interchange. LTA further mentioned that it will bring about great convenience to public commuters who travel daily.
Joo Koon ITH will feature upgraded facilities that are more commuter-friendly, senior-friendly and barrier -free to cater to those commuters who are under exceptional care such as the elderly and handicapped. 40 Bicycle lots will also be allocated for those who use bicycles as their choice of transport.
Bus operations will be enforced in three phases in the span of four weeks to lessen the drawback it may create to commuters. Expected dates of implementation will be on 21 November, 28 November and on 12 December. All bus routes will be slowly unveiled to the public for smoother progression. This will be the eighth Integrated Transport Hub where MRT station and bus interchange are joined with connecting commercial establishments.
