Home owners, HDB and developers are getting more high tech as they adopt technology to create a smart home system. Housing Development Board (HDB) has rope in Infocomm Development Authority of SIngapore (IDA) to implement smart home package to Yuhua Estate in Jurong.
Residents could purchase a smart home stystem for as low as $10 at a discounted rate. For elderly who live alone, their family or care takers will be alerted if the eldery press the panic button. Electrical appliances can be turn off and on via the mobile application as well as tracking electricity and water usage, all within the app itself.
Strata Semi Detached at Thomson Three and The new Executive Condominium at The Visionaire has also adopt smart home technolgoy for its residents. Whether to on the air con system before coming back or drawing the curtain is just a click on the button on the resident mobile. Will this set the trend for home owners and new home sales?
