HSR ProjectMalaysia’s MyHSR and Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore jointly call a tender last 22 August, appointing a Joint Development Partner (JDP) in assisting the development of High-Speed Rail (HSR) project connecting Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Singapore.

According to a joint statement made by MyHSR and Singapore LTA, the JDP is anticipated to provide technical advice, project management support and procurement advice regarding the HSR operations and systems.

Moreover, the JDP will also serve the joint project team made between Malaysia and Singapore to prepare documents for the upcoming tenders. The tender for the project is open to companies who have acquainted on large private and public partnership infrastructure developments, including high speed rail projects of similar size and complexity.

Tender is also open to experience companies offering project management, and technical, legal advisory or commercial services concerning high speed rail and other rail projects implying over 200km of track.

The 350km HSR project is anticipated to reduce travel time between Malaysia and Singapore to just 90 minutes. The upcoming high speed rail projects will have a total of eight stops, from Malaysia to Singapore.

The high-speed rail (HSR) project will be sited at Jurong East close to Lake Grande and Lakeville @ Lakeside, and expected to operate in year 2026.
