Singapore Bedok residents can look forward to better connectivity and more vibrant social areas when the Bedok Town Plaza and newly upgraded pedestrian mall in Bedok Town Centre completed.
The improvements of Bedok were carried out as part of the Remaking Our Heartland programme of HDB.
Local Adviser to Grassroots Organisations Lee Yi Shyan and National Development Minister Lawrence Wong launched the developments of Bedok Town in the HDB Community Week 2016. This event held last 20 May aims to create community-centric towns.
As part of renovation works, the new plaza was combined with surrounding developments, including hawker centre, pedestrian mall and Bedok Mall with the integrated transport hub, which was refurbished to about $3 million cost.
The upcoming new Bedok Town Plaza is the first generation town plazas of HDB to be completed. Sinagpore HDB also developing 2 other town plazas in Yishun and Punggol.
Located along My Waterway@Punggol near Waterwoods EC @ Punggol, the new Punggol Town Plaza is due to be completed in second half 2016, while HDB Yishun Town Plaza, situated close to the upcoming Northpark Residences is likely to be completed in 2018.
