Between January and April 2015, more Singapore landed homes are being sold as prices have fallen significantly from their record high, media reports stated.
During the said period, property buyers have picked up around 316 landed homes, translating to a yearly growth of 15.3%. In the peak of Q3 2013, prices also fell by 7.2% during the first quarter, according to government data.
Sale of furnished bungalow in Bishopsgate is one of the major deals of landed property in the first 4 months of 2015, a record price about $33 million.
According to Mr Samuel Eyo, Singapore Christie’s Homes managing director, the Supply for landed properties is limited in prime areas, property buyers are trying to get the best deals as developers may chosen to sell to prevent Qualifying Certificate penalties.
Many property developers are acquiring site with redevelopment potential (usually an old bungalows type) in anticipation that once the development is completed, it will heat up again. These include sites at Hillcrest Road, Oriole Crescent and Robin Road
