Jurong Lake GardensNational Parks Board (NParks) of Singapore is welcoming consultancies to be part of Jurong Lake Gardens or JLG Central and East concept design plan.

The main requirement is to provide great ideas on how to integrate the guidelines of design for JLG West and its surrounding area.

Jurong Lake Park or JLG West comprises of the Japanese and Chinese Gardens, while JLG East consists a 5 meter wide promenade facing the northern part of Jurong Lake and the new Science Centre.

The new Science Centre plan to relocate close to Chinese Garden MRT station, along with landscape terraces and green roofs.

The whole projects must complement the existing area of Jurong Gateway, the commercial zone of Jurong Lake District. The concept must integrate green features, by practicing the efficient use of water and energy, and also renewable and recycled materials.

The submission of proposal will be on 25 April. For the second and final stage of the tender to be held in June, five firms will be chosen and the winner to be revealed at the end 2016.

JLG West construction will begin in April and due to be completed by 2018, while from 2020 onwards, JLG Central and East will be progressively finished.

Jurong Lake District is set to transformed the area and benefits nearby residents of Lake Grande and Lake Life EC.
