City Development Limited (CDL) submitted top bid at a highly contested site at Handy Road in Singapore District 9 with a top bid at $212.2 million or $1,722 psf ppr. This site is along Orchard Shopping Belt and near to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station and Plaza Singapura. This site received the most bids as compared to another GLS sites at Chong Kuo Road and West Coast vale which received 8 bids and 6 bids respectively.

CDL bid at $1,733 psf ppr was just about 0.6% off for the record prie set for the Jiak Kim Street Land Sales which was award to Fraser Centrepoint last year.

CDL under Kwek Leng Beng, is selective in their land purchase and see potential in this site as it is rare to get a GLS site in Central District 9. Singapore residential market is currently also recovering, especially in the core central region as developer seek to stock up their land bank especially in core central region.

This development is likely to build 8 to 10 storey high with about 200 residential units. The current conversation building will be converted to a clubhouse to retain its heritage charm.

Meanwhile, CDL also came in top bid for another GLS at West Coast Vale which can build 2 storeys at 36 storey high with about 700+ units.
