The two tower upcoming condominium, Gem Residences at Toa Payoh is set to become the first Singapore residential development where its residents can use ez-link for the payment of certain services as well as facilities.
Dwellers of Gem Residences can use their access keycards to common areas, lifts and at intercoms by just registering their ez-link cards, resident will not need to hold a separate access card for their condominium.
Located next to Braddell MRT Station, the 578-unit Gem Residences is being built by Evia Real Estate, Maxdin and Gamuda Berhad with estimated date of completion by year 2020.
Besides allowing anyone to receive package delivered when the homeowner wasn't there, the ez-link cards can also be used to pay for condominium services and facilities, including housekeeping, car-rental, vending machines, 24-hour concierge and other self-service kiosks.
Dwellers can also use their old ez-link cards, or NFC-enabled mobile phones via EZ-Link, just upgrade their smart door lock system to access.
Unlike other access card technology, these ez-link cards will require secure verification before granting access, MQuest’s Managing Director, Lim Boon Seng, stated.
Furthermore, in case the card has been lost or stolen, it can be disabled and card owner can request for information on when these card are being used, to see if someone is trying to access without the owner's permission.
