Thomson-East Coast LineConstruction works on the northern stretch of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) for the last 5 MRT stations has begun. The groundbreaking ceremony was held last Apr 26, 2015 for the Maxwell, Marina Bay, Shenton Way, Gardens by the Bay and Marina South stations, reported by media.

The guest of honour at the ceremony held last Sunday was Dr Lily Neo, she is the Adviser to Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency (GRC) Grassroots Organisations. She stated that nearby residents particularly elderly will benefit from greater connectivity once the 5 MRT stations are ready.

“From Maxwell to Outram MRT Station, it will only take one MRT station to visit Singapore General Hospital, so for medical purposes, it will definitely very convenient,” she added.

Development for the other 17 stations along Thomson-East Coast Line’s northern stretch have been progressing since 2014 and will be completed in phases from 2019. By 2021, the entire northern stretch will be ready to operate.

Singapore properties like Adana @ Thomson and Crown @ Robinson will benefit from the upcoming MRT Line, the Thomson East Coast line.
