Construction Worker

City Developments Limited has donated fortified rice of more or less 1.5 tonnes to over 300 construction workers last Sunday, October 01 during a  CDL 5-Star Environmental, Health and Safety EHS Awards 2017 which was done at Singapore University of Technology and Design.

The World Food programme declared that fortifications enhance enough amount of vitamins and minerals found in rice which is vital for one’s growth and health.

“For CDL, the worker’s safety and well-being are given the highest consideration,” according to  Chia Ngiang Hong, the General Manager of CDL. He added, ” By donating fortified rice to the construction workers, we believe we have done our moral obligation that is giving our workers nutritious and healthier  eating options.”

During the program, seven workers were also given with a CDL 5-Star EHS Awards through the guest of honor in the person of Sam Tan, the State Manpower  Minister.

Founded in 2005, the yearly award ceremony ‘s ultimate goal is to give recognition to those builders and workers who did an exemplary EHS performance.

There is around 1,600 construction manpower presently employed by developers around the Five worksites of CDL.
