There are close to 880,000 households occupying the HDB flats will be a beneficiary of GST Voucher’s Utilities Save or U-Save discount for the month of October, advertised by Ministry of Finance on October 02, Monday.
It depends on the kind of flat type, each certified Singaporean household is given a privilege of a $55 and $95 discount for the month of October 2017. This offer also will run until January to April 2018, the sum total for all rebates that will be given is as high as $220 to $380.
It is anticipated the cost to reach $265 million yearly beginning July 2017, the once in every three months U-Save promo rebates is such a big help to HDB households. It helps reduce utility bills and overall decreases household expenditures. This is only one of the three components of the government’s program on GST Voucher system.
“Yearly, U-Save discount promo allows households of one- and two-room HDB flats to obtain support proportionate to three to four months of household’s monthly expenses. Those occupants of three- and four-room flats will have their support commensurate in one to two months of their household operational expenses, ” explained by the ministry.
On the other side, household who owns two and above properties are not entitled to the U-Save discount promo.
