With the stable supply of such units, the tender rates for unmarried individuals have fell from a top record of 57.5 aspirants to one 2-room flat throughout the year 2013 BTO (Build-to-Order) exercise to about 5.9 last year.
“The Housing and Development Board will continue to observe the demand and regulate its supply of 2-room units to suit the housing desires of this group,” noted the spokesman.
Qualified first-timer singles obtaining an HDB flat can relish up to $40,000 in housing endowments, including the Special CPF Housing Grant (SHG) and the Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG), together of which are covered at $20,000.
Temporarily, suitable first-timer singles who desire to buy a resale unit from the open market can relish up to $60,000 in housing endowments, including the AHG (covered at $20,000), Singles Grant (covered at $25,000) as well as the Proximity Housing Grant (PHG).
