A new Singapore site located along West Coast Road has been selected for the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), according to the Housing and Development Board (HDB) revealed last 3 August.
The West Coast Road site is the 80th site to benefit from Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) after it was introduced in year 1995.
Residents of almost 1,000 flats, will have to evacuate by Q2 2023.
Residents will be offered new units in 99-year leases located at West Coast Link and Clementi Avenue 1, which will comprised over 1,300 units and due to be completed in Q3 2022.
The 2 sites are located close to several amenities, including West Coast Plaza, Clementi Mall and Clementi MRT station. It is also close to other upcoming condominium development such as Clement Canopy and The Trilinq @ Clementi.
The SERS plan will include an eating house and 2 sold shops at Block 516, and 12 sold shops at Block 517. Commercial property owners will be given settlement based on the market value at the point of time after the SERS is announced.
Meanwhile, eligible singles thinking to buy a replacement unit can apply for $15,000 SERS grant, while families and joint singles are eligible for a SERS grant worth $30,000.
The HDB will update all SERS commercial property owners and flat owners individually of these plans.
