The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has approved two private projects (housing) that have more than 1000 units each and one project with less than 1,000 units. The approval was set last quarter (Q3) this year (2014).Sims Urban Oasis

The first project, known as Sims Urban Oasis, is under the subsidiary of GucoLand. It has around 1,024 units with a leasehold of 99 years. It is very accessible to Pan Island Expressway, Aljunied Rad and Sims Drive. TOP date will be on 2018.

The project covers a land area of around 2.4 hectares. The land was actually acquired by a group under the Malaysian mogul, Quek Leng Chan. They won the bidding last April by offering $530.89 million for the property. So, that would be around $688psf.

Sims Urban Oasis is surrounded by different amenities for enjoyment. Students can go to schools without hassles like Geylang Methodist School, Kong Hwa School, Northlight School and Canossa Convent Primary School. Older residents can spend their weekends of leisure facilities that are close by like Bixlink Center, Eminent Plaza and Katong Swimming Complex.

The second large-scale project that URA approved was Kingsford Waterbay. The project is under Kingsford Property Development. It contains six terrace houses, two semi-D units and 1,157 apartments.

Kingsford Waterbay is situated at Upper Serangoon and sits near a river. Residents of this project will surely enjoy the calming view from their window!

The last project that URA approved was Symphony Suites. This project is under EL Development. It covers a land area of more than 20,000 sqm and houses around 600 units. Tenure is 99 years.
